Don't feel bad. I keep bonking my knees when I'm doing snatches, and I've nailed my chin a couple of times on cleans when the bar was actually lighter than I thought it would be. Totally lost my balance a couple weeks ago on a full snatch and fell on my ass with the bar scratching my shin. Hey, at least we're out there trying!

Hey, humerous accidents happen to all of us...

I whacked myself in the head doing a sandbag get-up. I went to lie back down and part of the sandbag fell backwards, hit me in the head, shoving my head into the floor.

Good luck with the training!

Just in case you were wondering, since we need to intensity our approach to fat loss, we've ditched our heavy lifts in favour of stuff that's going to have a more profound impact on fat loss. I love seeing people get stronger but we have to prioritize goals right now.

We're currently following a messy hybrid of rest-pause and lactic acid threshold training. This gives us a chance to minimize strength decrease while emphasizing strength/power-endurance and getting those lactate et al. levels up (and keep them up longer than usual). Since Alaina's recovery is getting to be very solid, this is also the kind of intensity increase necessary to push her into oxygen debt.

It appears that our once sedentary heroine has seen enough physical progress that the same ole protocols are just not powerful enough medicine for her. This is not a bad thing. It's actually pretty cool -- even if it does mean more work for us.

Yeah, I've totally hit myself in the face with a medicine ball. Multiple times.

I also fell off a treadmill once, I have a scar from it.

Don't worry, you aren't the only one who has training accidents. I've bruised my chin doing burpees (chin smashing into the floor) and push presses (bar smashing into chin). Fortunately, none of these errant training methods have resulted in a knock-out... and people have been kind enough not to laugh at me, yet. :-)
