Great article. Rock on. The examples of the real food eaten by a real person are perfect. I've pointed a number of my clients to your site and this article.

More recipes and food examples would be great!

That article is awesome. I took note of a small mention in it on planning your time better. I'm currently trying to juggle a full time job, commute and Tang Soo Do twice weekly with a gym schedule. Today I sat down and planned my time just like I plan my meals. I found that I can still fit in 45 mins at the gym 3 x a week before work (on non TSD days), time that was otherwise spent sat in front of the computer before I got ready for work. The best part of it is, I only have to get up 15 minutes earlier than usual in order to do it. I lose next to nothing!

You really are an inspiration Krista, that little voice in my head that makes all the "I don't have time" excuses had better sthu now after reading that article!

Thanks, Krista. Good to know that ground flax is okay - I'd heard that it loses potency (or something), but I trust you more than whatever that source was.

If I may, another question. (The article's been bumping around in my head since I read it.) Can you recommend any reading or resources on the super-healthy, mega-antioxidants-anti-inflammatory-etc eating style you've embraced? I'm thinking along the lines of where you learn that microwaving a carrot for a minute makes its nutrients more accessible, the helpful properties of cinnamon and nutmeg... how one makes healthy sprouted-quinoa bread... etc.

You can buy ground flax seeds, although make sure they're ground flax seeds and not flax meal, which is often really just a repackaged by product. You can also try grinding other nuts for variety in a food processor. The good thing about flax, though, is that it can absorb a lot of liquid, so it's ideal for baking into very moist breads.

This is awesome! I just spent a good portion of dinner gushing to my surprised family about my mad love of weightlifting. My little sister called me a jock, though I maintain I'm a weightlifting nerd. Point being - you are such an inspiration.

The quinoa bread looks really exciting. Right now I buy sprouted grain bread, but I'd love to make my own! Do you know if there'd be an easy substitution for the flax seeds? I don't have a coffee grinder...
