For the beginning, or postpartum, weight lifter, a baby makes an excellent weight to carry around for all daily activities and things like weighted reverse crunches.

When put on a soft surface underneath you it will also make a good motivator for doing one more push-up or another 20 seconds of plank. (Or both, as plank turns into push-up to kiss a giggly face.)

Thank you! This is great info! And one idea: you can buy cat litter in big boxes, 20 or even 30 pounds - and the boxes conveniently have handles. So you can get a nice burn just lugging one of those babies around. Buy two, so you can actually use one for the cat. ;-)

What are you, some kind of wimp? :) Yeah, looks like some hyphens went AWOL, unless I really did mean you should do 35 sets of 810 reps.

I hope I'm seeing some problems with the text rendition or font or something. You don't really want us to put 210 lbs of sand in a soccer ball, do you?

Here's a good one for sandbag or medicine ball: walk up stairs with knees bent. I had to carry a rectangular table up some basement stairs with a low ceiling today, and instead of carrying it lengthwise like a sensible person I had it held vertically, which meant sort of squat-walking up the stairs so the thing didn't hit the ceiling. Only one flight but man, did I feel it.

I tried with bodyweight and the balance was a little difficult, so I think holding something in front is a good idea. Then again, I reliably fall over when doing squats even if I'm holding onto a railing, so your mileage may vary.
