And what about some others like "Vitamin" water - the sugar is high and the vitamins low.

Solution - make your own yogurt (it is really easy) and drink water.

Yup! I am truly embarrassed at the state of our food industry and so very fearful for our kids who are bombarded with this crap. And, not just them, many adults are unaware of the crap in our foods, as well! SCARY!

Holy crap!! This reminds me of my first US culture shock in the supermarket: trying to find plain unflavoured porridge oats (oatmeal) in among the aisle of sugary cereals. The Barbie cereal with pink marshmallow high heel shoe shapes was my personal "No, this cannot be real!" moment.

LOL! Reminds me of the Evolution of the Granola Bar.

First plain, then with carob chips. Then chocolate chips. Oh what the hell, let's smother it with chocolate. But it's still a "healthy" granola bar!

I too am greatly troubled by the junk in the grocery store. With this sorts of items on the shelves, no wonder other countries ridicule us. No wonder why obesity is such a problem. It reminds me of the Simpsons scene where Marge has been dragged to a candy convention. She tries to eat a celery stick when a security guard informs her, "Ma'am, you're going to have to put some sugar on that or take it outside."

As a US resident, I see these candy yogurt things all the time and consciously don't eat them, yet it never occurred to me how truly bizarre they are until you mentioned it.

lol..a healthy snack? No way. The yogurt itself probably has more sugar than the cady does. I've seen those. I believe they also come with Oreo cookie toppings and something else...maybe peanut butter pieces. None-the-less an insult to yogurt and a lie about a healthy snack.
