Lean Eating horn tootin’

The January 2010 Lean Eating cohort female finalists have been chosen and lots of my ducklings made the cut! Check out their amazing results along with several other fabulous — and real — transformations. My ladies who made the shortlist are Typykka, Elky, theresavo, KMisher, mpoushes, nazmoo, and sugarmom1996… tough competition though… the grrls all did some great work. We had a really hard time getting it down to 20.

    Are you and the other Krista randomly assigned people to coach, or can people entering the LE program have a say in who their coach is, if they already have a preference?

    You can ask for a coach if you have one in mind. Erin Weiss-Trainor, Krista Schaus, and I are the three women’s coaches.

    A few of those transformations are even so fabulous that you have to wonder. Of course, good lighting (and contracting your abs) can do a lot to make your results even more impressive, but losing fat and gaining muscle mass in 6 months are two different stories. One example in the women’s list is Typykka, a much more obvious one in the men’s list is bryancox.
    Anyway, well done to everyone, and keep on with the healthy life habits!

    Michael: It’s definitely easy to wonder if you don’t see the regular progress, but as coaches we get daily compliance tracking data, weekly measurements, and monthly photos, plus we talk to these folks all the time. So we see the “during”, all the hard work — other folks just see the end product.

    I’m sorry, my comment wasn’t very clear, I wasn’t at all questioning the hard work and the fact that the progress was seriously tracked and achieved in 6 months time, I was only trying to say that in very few cases (maybe 2 or 3 people max. out of the whole men and women selection) you might be inclined to think that there was some kind of anabolic enhancement implied. By personal choice, I mean, nothing to do with the program itself, which is obviously effective.

    Im curious to know what the diet/nutrition side of this transformation is like? Can you shed some light Krista?
    I am seriously considering training for a body sculpting type event, just have to find a trainer in my area with this type of experience which will be the toughest challenege…coz Im amped to do it!
    These ladies results are outstanding.

    The diet/nutrition side of it is remarkably simple in most ways. It’s the doing it that’s hard. ‘Cause really, if I asked you to write down the basic points of a healthy diet, you could probably nail most of them. Would you do them — every day, correctly? Probably not. We give information, sure, but more importantly we give structure, accountability, and support. There are no meal plans, although we do help folks develop healthy eating routines. We communicate principles and habits, and support people in understanding these and adhering to them consistently.

    Krista, lately your postings have really been hitting home!
    I found these pics so inspiring. Usually I’m skeptical of any weightloss program that uses before and after shots usually in the small print it says “results not typical”. Recently I’ve found myself trying to lose some weight and really struggling. I work in a gym (I have a Kinesiology degree for heavens sake) and between this blog and the “hot for teacher blog” I’ve decided to stop being embarrased about being a “soft” fitness pro, I’ve shelved my pride and my determination to do it by myself and I’ve signed up for the August Lean Eating program. I’m hoping to get my healthy happy body back!

    So awesome to see Krista! I’m trying to convince more of my female clients that lifting weights is the way to get the body that they want, this is awesome motivation!
