measuring women's work in IT
Presented at the Congress of Social Sciences and Humanities, Halifax, June 3, 2003.
In this paper I discuss some ideas that inform my current research into measuring women's work in IT, or information technology, linking our understanding of technology as social relations to shifts in the larger labour market. I identify some methodological concerns, as well as some indicators that can be combined to increase the complexity of our understanding of women's work in IT.
Because of time considerations, I had to edit the presentation for length. Both versions are available for download in PDF.
